Telemarketers: Need Leads? Read This

I have been in the telemarketing business for about a year now, and at first I hated it. It can be so difficult to make a sale, and my previous experience in sales wasn’t much help. This is due tot he fact that when you are face to face you have a distinct advantage, while over the phone it can be hard to convince anyone to do anything. But I found a saving grace that might help you as well.

I was looking on a forum, and I say someone talking about having just finished up another page of lottery leads. They claimed to have made an 80% sales target from that one list alone, which sounded too good to be true. But after talking to this guy for awhile, I started to hope I might be able to have the same result.

I went on Google, found a few websites offering magazine leads, and I tried it for myself. I ended up with a list of hardcopy numbers that cost me about $40, but ended up making me $500 in commissions alone. From there I bought a longer list, and I doubled that, and then tripled it. I really got the hang of using these lists for my maximum benefit.

Since then (this was only eight months ago) I have been promoted, and I am considered one of the top sellers on my floor. But it all has to do with having a real target base to draw from, rather than anything I have changed in my approach.

Fun Ways To Beat The Heat This Summer

We still have an entire week of summer left, and it’s getting even hotter. While you may be tempted to stay indoors with the AC running full blast, this is neither active, or cost efficient. Why not use some fun ways for you and your family to beat the heat?

The first choice is obvious, and that is to go swimming. Whether you have a pool in your backyard, in you apartment complex, or at a local school or community center, you should easily be able to take your kids out for a nice dip in the pool. There is nothing better for enjoying yourself, while still being active.

Have a water balloon fight. You can get a pack fo water balloons at any dollar store for a few cents a package, and they are easy to fill up. Your kids will love running around, and you will find yourself enjoying it as well. Just be sure to pick up the balloon pieces afterward, no one likes litter.

Pick up a slip and slide. Any grocery store should have an aisle dedicated to these and other fun summer games. You can use them with a hose, or in a set of sprinklers, and they are guaranteed to give you hours of fun.

Why Swine Flu Shouldn’t Be Causing Panic

There has recently been a surge in panic over swine flu, especially in the American mainstream media, and the most of the United Kingdom. But is it really something to panic about? What about the past outbreak of swine flu? Do we really have anything to worry about?

So far there have been just over 400 global deaths due to complications of swine flu. While this number may seem high, it is actually shockingly low. Every year over 30,000 people die from swine flu in the United State alone. Global number are much higher, and there is never a panic over it being an epidemic.

Statistically speaking, swine flu has already shown itself to be a fraction as deadly as the regular virus, which takes the lives of people of all ages, backgrounds, and status every year. Not only that, but the symptoms are indistinguishable to the regular flu. So, why the panic?

The fears are over a possible mutation, similar to the fears over the avian flu a few years ago. While a super bug would have the potential to be the next plague or TB, we aren’t there yet. A vaccine is on the way, so far the disease is not that deadly, and it is showing no signs of mutation. The world can calm down.

Putting New Spins On Old Recipes

Are you tired of the old recipes you make night after night? Have you become sick of the same old foods, but you are so used to the old standbys that you aren’t sure you have enough time to try a few dozen new dishes? Don’t do a complete overhaul of your recipe book. Instead, add little changes to the ones you already know to spice them up.

For example, are you bored with spaghetti? Why not put the finished noodles into the oven with some pasta sauce, an egg, sliced Italian sausage, and mozzarella cheese? Bake it for 10 minute at 350 F, and you have a great baked pasta dish that your family will love.

Made baked chicken one too many times this week? Mix together a cup of salsa, a few tablespoons of Ranch dressing, and the juice from one lime. Spread it on the already cooked chicken, add cheese, and bake at 325 F for 15 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbling. Put it on some tortilla chips, and you have fiesta lime chicken that will make your mouth water.

It is easy taking old favorites and turning them into new ones. All it takes is a little thought, and you will have a whole new list of recipes in no time.

There seems to be a major change in the way that we’re all shopping at the moment. It seems that the conscious consumption and excesses of the last ten years will soon be just a distant memory, as the recession forces us to tighten our belts. We see this most in the world of fashion, where prices make it hard sometimes to justify the amount that designers charge on their items.

This is why so many people these days are choosing knock off designer handbags. The question we all have to ask ourselves is how do we still manage to look good in the current economic climate.
